Pros

nice, intelligent coworkers, profit sharing is decent, free gas, cell phone, and labtop (well they are supposed to be for business use but you can get away with using it for personal use).

Cons

-constant verbal abuse and mistrust from supervisor -unrealistic caseload-i would like to see upper management try to settle claims and meet the claimants in person driving everywhere in southern ca traffic, esp 405 traffic. no adjuster can meet the ludicrous performance expectations. maybe in a perfect claims world where claimants come to your office so you can get credit for meeting them in person, accidents where A r/e B and both parties agree on liability, where claimants agree on your low settlement, etc. -high stress from angry customers and tyrannical demands from idiot supervisor -lack of training or delayed training-i must have looked like a novice in front of the claimants -company expects you to work 60 hours but manage to fit it in 40 hours so they don't have to pay overtime and are cheap about giving overtime -being stuck in l.a. traffic meeting claimants, getting home late, and not getting compensated

Pros

Nice package of benefits, but this will change in Jan 2009. New benefit package will still be fair compared to other corporations, however, the benefits are much less appealing.

Cons

Too many to list... my particular branch claims office's top 3 faults are: 1. Inequality 2. Constant management changes, turnover, staffing issues 3. Indecisiveness, constant changes to benefit company only

Pros

Some good benefits are left at this time. People are generally nice and friendly.

Cons

Terrible work-life balance. This company hs never hit on the right workload to give its employees, even after losing a big class action lawsuit. At this time, perfection is demanded in work quality yet the quantity is too much. The company is trying very hard to modernize, which means it is now one of the typical uncaring employers out to squeeze its work force and reduce benefits. New benefits package coming in 2009 is heavily marketed as "exciting" while it is gutting some formerly generous benefits, like sick pay and pension, and making it much harder to collect on others, like profit sharing, which is turning into employee performance based match on a 401(k).
