Pros

This company provides a lot of job security, and there are a lot of opportunities if permanence is what you want. The health benefits, etc are great. And it's nice to work for a company dedicated to precision.

Cons

The Austin District is not being run well, at all. Micromanaged, too much time is spent on belittling and minutia as opposed to ensuring the support of current staff.... which leads to a VICIOUS cycle of being painstakingly understaffed.

Pros

I've worked at FedEx office for several years and I love my center manager. He tries his best to treat us like humans. FedEx is a great way to learn new computer skills like CS6, and you get to gain a lot of experience for the production side of printing. They give you major holidays off, vacation pay, sick pay and benefits. You get to meet some interesting people.

Cons

Seriously, we are way understaffed. This job will take over your life. I've been working a rotating shifts, split days off for almost half a year, and my personal life has pretty much disappeared. You wait on some really stupid and angry people, and the way FedEx sets up their 1-800 hotline is a complete joke. Be prepared to be yelled at for stuff that is completely not your fault. As wonderful as my center manager is, the bureaucracy of upper management and HR has limited him. We allow many of our employees to be lazy and do the bare minimum while either driving away or burning out the good empoyees. FedEx Office also cares more about numbers than anything. So excellent customer service, coming on your day off to cover, staying late, coming in early, never calling in sick, trying to make sure every job you do is correct the first time, means absolutely nothing unless you hit all of your product of the month numbers, survey counts, and pack and ship transactions. And even if you DO hit those numbers, you won't get credit for them because customers hardly will ever give you a shout out unless you hound them.

Pros

- Great place to work at lower levels. - Good benefits - including availability for non-traditional partnerships. - Fast paced. - Good interaction with local business community.

Cons

- Rough job for managers. Ask way more of their managers than anyone can really do with little support. - Unless you are in a remote area, you will have far more business than you have payroll/staff to deal with. - Company vision is not fantastic. Too many hands, in too many different projects/programs.
