Pros

The benefits are OK. They aren't fantastic, not even as good as what FedEx Express gets, but they aren't terrible. I have learned a lot about technology, working with varying personalities, and creating something with little resources.

Cons

It took me 5 years to become a manager, I am underpaid compared to other managers who were hired in as managers. This is very standard. For some reason if you are promoted you can only be bumped up to the minimum of the salary grade, but hired in with experience else where opens up new doors. Stress is very high, we are treated as guinea pigs for the corporate office to test new ideas. I can't imagine having a family while also having this job. There is no work/life balance. I feel bad for my employees. They make retail wages, but have much more responsibility than a standard retail job. Career growth short unless you want to move to Dallas or Plano.

Pros

Large, well-known company (FedEx) combined with the, now obsolete, Kinko's name makes for a reputable shipping and printing company that is somewhat reliable to work for. You are never doing the same thing every day, especially in production. It can be a fun job that will teach you a variety of skills.

Cons

The people working in the FedEx Office stores are given instructions from people who have never worked at a store a day in their life, ie: Express, Ground, corporate, 1-800-Go-Fedex, etc. This makes for a VERY frustrating experience. You watch a lot of undeserving people get promoted, as is the downside to many retail & customer service positions. Every store is run differently, rules and procedures are changing constantly which lead to price differences, policy differences, and ultimately customer complaints. The variety of this job, while a pro, can also be a con. The upper management is an unfortunate joke in most cases, but again, that can be said for many retail & customer service jobs.
