Pros

Great advancement in career Opportunities. You can start at the very bottom and work your way to management in about 2-3 years. There is a variety of options at FedEx Express in both lower level jobs and in management in different divisions. Some management positions have varying work hours and some are pretty stable. No matter which shift or divisions you work, you will need to be flexible with your end work time, that's the business. Attendance is very important so if you are someone who likes a lot of time off, this job is not for you!! Dedication and organization is also very important since you are usually multitasking most of your day.

Cons

Salary differences with slightly lower pay for women in management

Pros

The pleasure of consistently working 12-14 hours per day! And the second best reason is you can forget everything you know about a normal work-life balance. For what they expect, FedEx Ground pays its operations/terminal managers about half of what they should.

Cons

They do not understand what a work-life balance is (and no I am not just talk about Christmas season). You will work very long and awkward hours.

Pros

FedEx Ground provides an intense environment, but also a daily sense of accomplishment. Development is a growing focus in the company. FedEx Ground provides the resources for employees to take charge of their career and accomplish their career goals. Although the work is intense, the culture is very relaxed. It truely is a big FedEx family environment everywhere you go within the company, there is that common bond that unites us. I've never worked for a company that has the culture that is at FedEx. FedEx offers competitive salaries and great benefits.

Cons

As with any large corporation, FedEx Ground has its share of pork (employees who don't pull their weight). FedEx Ground's approach to the problems has encouraged some of this behavior. It become too large in many respects. Also, the employees are watching a change from putting People first, to putting numbers first. There's a lack of recognition for the accomplishments. Too often, the negative is pointed out, yet the positive goes unnoticed. A facility can hit a particular goal for several weeks in a row (maybe even exceed that goal). Not much or nothing may be said about it. However, if that facility falls short one week, then upper management is quick to point it out and give orders to address it immediately.
