Pros

I started in 1987 as a machine operator. In 1992 I was tested and selected to do apprenticeship. Now hold a skilled trades journeyman card. Good hourly wage at the time.

Cons

Plant is dirty and not climate controlled, used to produce asbestos products up until 1988. UAW and Abex Friction Products could not come to agree on a contract resulting in a nasty strike in 1996.FM declared Chapter11. Plant went downhill ever since then and closed in 2013.
