Looks good on paper but reality is much different
Pros
Free samples if you are in to cookies and candy. The new office in the Old Post Office building is really well done although the open concept can be very loud and distracting at times. There can be some really great people sprinkled in through the organization.
Cons
Very poor leadership and no work life balance due to people being extremely over worked. Ferrara prides itself on being a fast paced work environment but the commercialization speed here is actually slower than most. They will sell you on "being empowered to make decisions" when in reality you will be told what to do from up above with some people put on projects literally named "Make It Happen". Every project will change scope multiple times due to poor decision making leading to a lot of re-work. There is definitely a "Ferrara" personality type you will encounter frequently where people will sell you out in an instant to get ahead or because they think it makes them look good. Many job postings will have descriptions looking for "passionate leaders" but in reality most people here don't display leadership qualities. If you are joining because you think it will be good experience with room for growth then you should think again. It seems like opportunities for advancement are very limited for most. Ferrara seems to have entered the phase where people in key areas like marketing and operations are starting to jump ship and every week you can play the guessing game of who will get fed up and leave next. Pay for most areas is well below industry standards so there isn't even a amazing salary to make up for all of the bad for those that do stick around.
