Innovative team, weak eng leadership

Pros

The technology developed in-house is interesting and there are a few talented engineers who are doing creative and cutting-edge software development. Passionate CEO.

Cons

The engineering leadership is very weak, lacks a vision. Innovation and problem solving have been discouraged in favor of work presentation and bureaucratic process. The severity depends on the team you work with. Engineering culture has shifted from being innovative in the early days to be bureaucratic and political. Some talents have already left and a few I knew were thinking about the departure. CEO is opinionated and could be stubborn at times.

Good benefits, smart people, interesting work

Cons

People disappear without a word. Frequently. Lots of "work late to get things done" culture. Ridiculous deadlines with no support.
