Pros

Remote company Decent pay Okay benefits Some over qualified people work here

Cons

All of the negative reviews here are 1000% percent true. The CEO of this company is a pathetic little man who has zero talent in being a CEO, zero communication skills, and zero technical skills. He is the worst person I have ever encountered and the biggest negative impact of this company. He single handedly ruins the entire culture here by exemplifying narcissistic, belittling, ignorant, rude, manner-lacking behavior, and has zero redeeming or likable qualities as a person. This guy is a toxic cesspool. AVOID THIS COMPANY AND CEO. If I had an investor who was putting my money into this company I'd fire them immediately for even thinking working with this guy was a good idea. This company has an outdated product, an incompetent CEO and a toxic culture. I wanted to like working here but it became an anxiety ridden experience. It's not worth your time or consideration to be here. The product that files.com sells is the worst version of this product on the market and there are tons of better competing products. OH, and not a single woman works here.

Pros

They are good at hiring, so the people you work with are top notch and definitely are experts in their field and outside of those that are drunk with the kool-aid, awesome to engage with and work towards a greater goal.

Cons

Where to start... the constant threat of losing your job because you said something that upset Kevin (owner), the inability to perform your role because of the inherent distrust within the org, the lack of formal leadership and structure, the expectation to perform with your hands tied behind your back, the toxic culture this creates, etc... I can say that it's been more of a relief to leave than it ever was to work there, which I'm not sure count's as a pro or con, but is just a fact.

Pros

I have been onboard since April, 2019. This company has created a unique culture (supported by the avOS system and tools) that works for a 100% remote company. I have experienced more interaction with my colleagues in this company that I ever did in a traditional office setting. The direct feedback received from both management and especially my peers is refreshing and lets you adjust your expectations on the fly. High expectations are a part of the culture. Goals are clearly defined and explained to all members of the company. But we are a Software as a Service company and those goals often change as customers, technologies and strategic initiatives are always in flux. Those who are former military (as I am) would understand the culture quickly and be able to flourish working here. As a security professional, it is most refreshing to work for a company and an owner that is security focused on the people, product, policies and processes. That security focused culture is the main reason I chose Action Verb as my next opportunity. And the meetings are always short! As in typically 15 minutes or less!

Cons

This is not necessarily a Con, but working 100% remote is not for everyone. You must be a self starter and be able to 'handle your own business' and have some self-accountability. And especially being able to adjust to changes on the fly. Those potential employees looking for a position where you are told what to do with lots of supervision will not be happy in this company.
