The company likes to promote from within-which is fine. But the company does not promote based on abilities and qualifications. There are some people in supervisory positions who are pretty useless; not knowing how to properly do their own job duties, much less lead a team successfully. I don't know what ever happened to firing or re-assigning people who don't produce results.
The pay is horrible considering the amount of work that is done everyday. The work itself is pretty stressful and there are many government rules and guidelines to abide by. There is very high employee turnover in our area because of this.
We frequently with customers, branch representatives, call center representative, and support services (or back office) reps. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that there is very poor training across the board. Some have not mastered basic reading and writing skills, and this causes delays when you are trying to comprehend what is being said in an email, or what was previously notated on a customer's account.
You would think that because they have so many branches and have been around for so long that things in the background would be more efficient, but that is the completed opposite. Many of the processes are antiquated and time consuming. When big issues happen, people run around like chickens with their heads cut off.
