Pros

FirstEnergy allows a good balance between work / home when needed. Pay is competitive. There is a lot of freedom to do what you can, get the job donie the best way which makes it more enjoyable.

Cons

It is a very lareg company which sometimes makes you feel like a 'number' instead of a person. Sometimes I question the opportunity to advance,

Pros

Can make a lot of money working overtime

Cons

People working at the plants are nice, but managers are not kind, and are very dogmatic. They threaten employees that don't "get in line", and is very much the good ol' boy network. Not very diverse work, and the majority of the technology is very old and out dated. Managers are very cheap, and sometimes do not want to pay overtime. Could care less if you have a life outside of work, they would rather you ruin your life, get divorced, and stay at their unhealthy plants. Managers think its the best place on earth to work , and don't understand why morale is low.
