Pros

There is no pros. Even the high pay cant make up for the bad office environment

Cons

Initially when I first started working at First Key Homes, the company only occupied one floor of the building and were a bit in disarray. However, coworkers and managers were great to work with even though space was limited. Things started to go down once the company started to grow and occupy more floors and ramp up their portfolio spending on acquiring homes for the rental market. Processes were indeed planned but never put through, and unqualified people were brought on board by others who just wanted to bring their friends and family for the high pay and great benefits. Management over at accounting and finance from property controller to acquisitions are the worst. Lacking any common knowledge from the most basic accounting skills, they were able to manipulate others to do their work and claim it as their own. They drove all the competent staff and brought their own "crew" so they can feel right at home. Most of the new staff have no clue of that they are doing. How can they claim they possess knowledge yet create erroneous entries that just mess up the financials and then turn around and berate the few competent staff of why they aren't doing more than enough to help the new staff? I'm just glad that I left the company, because sadly enough, according to a former co-worker of mine and good friend, the company laid off a good chunk of people early November and not surprisingly, she and her crew stayed while the competent and educated employees are left with no employment and worse during the holiday season. But one thing that is the sore sticking point is now they are posting new positions for accounting and finance just one month after the mass layoffs. This is disheartening, I for one feel angry for the laid off employees and disgusted that the company is getting away with this.

Pros

A steady paycheck, decent benefits and end of year merit bonus

Cons

Little to no advancement opportunities, unless you are related to upper management or have put at least 5 years in. Not worth the headache of big brother corporate dictating your every move...then criticizing you for ever making a decision on your own, even if you have 10 years of experience and a reasonable amount of intelligence. Pass.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We appreciate both the good reviews and the bad. I am sorry to read about the Cons you mention. We are, and have been, a quickly growing company for the last year and a half and with that comes great opportunities to grow as we do. We want and encourage every Team Member to strive to become a bigger part of what we are doing every day. I am sad to see that you thought otherwise. I do appreciate your point of view and I am sorry to see you felt micro-managed. This is not something we strive to do nor is it common practice across the company. I will pass along your thoughts though and make sure it is addressed if it is present anywhere within the company. Thank you for all that you did for FirstKey Homes. Scott
