Pros

Everyone in the office is super open and helpful/easy to talk to. Training was great and I felt supported throughout my first few months. Company has fun squad events so you can get to know your coworkers. The best part about the job are the kids and families you get to know. Scheduling is really understanding and flexible!

Cons

The pay is very low for all of the work you do. Sometimes most hours can be spent during drive time which is way less than your direct rate. You dont get a full time schedule right away. It takes at least 6 months to get a full schedule if you keep asking them. When you're hired they tell you that your sessions will be around your home, however a lot of people are sent to do covers or sessions way out of their region. Some PD's are overly critical and don't give you enough positive feedback. At times you may feel like you are being used. There is no HR in the office which is odd to me because there is lack of support. Evaluations really are not taken seriously and if you get a raise its like a 50 cent raise. 30 hours is considered full time and its a struggle to even get 30 hours due to scheduling and not having enough clients. When sessions are canceled or when you have big gaps in your days, you have to ask to do office time. Once they approve it they sometimes wont even let you do more than 1 hour of office time. Not to mention Office time is $4 less than your direct rate. Mentors can act cliquey and talk bad about instructors backs, honestly just reminded me of mean girls at times. When you put in your 2 weeks, the PDs are very unprofessional and all different levels.

Pros

The people. Truly the most lovely and supportive place to work. Everyone wants everyone to do well and to work together to help our incredible kids. You want in the Center and you just feel good.

Cons

Schedule changes when kids are out sick but that is to be expected when working with children. There is an assigned scheduler at the ready to re-route you or to have you support center based services, so it all works out. Just need to be understanding and remember that the schedulers are literal rocket scientists!

Too much micromanagement

Pros

Learning experience Supportive co-workers They’ll hire anyone with a diploma

Cons

Extreme turnover rate for instructors because they have no idea what they are getting into. This is a behavior clinic and while it’s fun working with kids, you’re constantly dealing with tantrums, aggression, defiance, etc. Upper management uses behavior techniques for children on their employees. New employees are getting paid way more than experienced & loyal employees There’s a cap on how much you can make as an instructor. They’ll fire an employee and give you more work outside your job description without paying a raise.. Oh but if you need to work overtime it’s a call from HR.
