Pros

Working at FirstSteps helped me grow as a person, and has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of human development. It is not only rewarding to work and guide families and children, but you also learn so much in return during the process.

Cons

This job will inevitably have days where you are commuting for long durations, and your schedule is likely to change randomly throughout the week. However, this is a type of job that will always have this con due to the nature of it. This may be a issue for some, and could cause unwanted stress. There is no pay from home to work, or work to home; only from client to client. This may add to the stressors of driving.

Pros

The training process at FirstSteps is phenomenal. I felt extremely prepared going into the field after training. Even after the training period is over, the support you get from supervisors is great. I am very happy with my decision to work at FirstSteps.

Cons

The only downside is that day-of schedule changed can be very inconvenient.

Pros

Coworkers are attentive. Environment is really friendly and accommodating. Great place to work if you enjoy working with kids. Training is a big part of the learning process.

Cons

In the offer letter they claim to pay you the full rate, yet during drive time to patient’s homes they pay you like $13 for that hour of drive time. Training is extremely overwhelming. When you apply for this job it doesn’t say in the job description you get quizzes every day for 1 and a half week and if you don’t pass the exams, you will not be able to work at FirstSteps. They care a little more about the patients than their own employees.
