Pros
Decent pay and benefits, small company environment. I found the CEO to be genuinely likable and someone I wanted to work for. Aspects of the product, business, and the customers as well as many friendly co-workers helped overcome the negatives much of the time. Could be a good place to work for some, but wasn't in the role I was filling.
Cons
Absolutely no prioritization of efforts. Everything was high priority therefore everything an emergency. The products and infrastructure I worked with were an absolute mess resulting in endless reactive firefighting. My immediate supervisor treated his direct-reports in a belittling, condescending, unprofessional, unacceptable manner, never admitting responsibility for the woefully inadequate systems he'd put in place. In fact, he was celebrated because of how cheap he had done things, creating a customer-facing infrastructure time-bomb. The manner in which he often behaved was not only ignored, it was sometimes embraced. Burnout and frustration were so great with some people that just as you established a necessary working relationship, they had left or were fired.
