Pros

* Number 1 share leader in every market it serves * Extremely sales friendly culture (uncapped earnings, great PClub trips, great value prop, etc.) * Great culture and long tenured employees (many have 15+ years) * Very profitable and stable environment. * Growing organically and by acquisition.

Cons

* No equity available * No where to hide. A true meritocracy that is focused on results which may not appeal to everyone.

Pros

The people are excellent (as related to the installer business). Some products have been treated with great care, and truly have born the fruits of investment. Fundamentally, they are the market leader in some areas because they have the best products. Market leadership contributes to great brand loyalty (and not just externally). I know very few people that do not tell people that they, "Work for InstallShield" versus "Work for Flexera".

Cons

Some installer products are only invested in as far as it takes to produce new features. Little improvement, if any, is provided to make those features truly relevant to customers. Bottom line is key, and any investment that doesn't drive new license sales is ignored. There's an implicit assumption that for certain products, there are no other options, and as such there's no need to invest the time and effort to improve its quality. As well, many staff are underpaid for their expertise, time and efforts. Some incredibly talented developers haven't received either a pay raise or title change since 2009. These are people I rely on for technical advice, who make the software that makes millions of dollars. Lastly, loyal customers are treated like cash cows. Flagging sales are met by increased prices to reduce revenue loss.
