      Good part-time job with very good benefits

      Pros

      Great benefits for part time workers. When I eventually quit after 10 years I had a very good employee profit sharing check mailed to me, and wasn't expecting it. I was scheduled for a lot of hours because they knew that I would work.

      Cons

      Basic pay for non-corporate part-time jobs at the store level. The stores can be located in neighborhoods or areas that aren't so attractive, but that seems to be the target market for most stores. Some managers can be difficult. I always go in the store to buy something in order to check it out first.

      Pros

      Many associates, easy to develop work relationships. Depending on position the work is relatively easy. Good benefits package for full-time employees.

      Cons

      Good work tends to go unnoticed. You have to "play the game" to receive a promotion. The company seems to alter it's sales strategies and policies seemingly every month. Pay is below average.

      Pros

      Food Lion is great to start out at. Work hard you will be promoted. Very good training for the office help. Lots of Training Hours to help you out. Bonus and Vacation pay for part time.

      Cons

      Raises are hard to come by,Long Hours on your feet,Some of the upper management are lazy and don't want to get up to help out on the front end, All Hollidays.
