Formlabs reviews

In a response to an earlier review, Formlabs said "As part of this shift, in 2024 we parted ways with some Formlings. This group included talented people who made strong contributions to the company, and who moved on to new roles. Our management team took responsibility for what Formlabs could’ve done differently." I challenge them on this claim. The CEO fired a significant part of the company via email. The tone was that those being let go were "less than" and pretty much deserved to be let go for their lack of talent and production. Also, there was nothing that can be fairly characterized as the CEO or management taking responsibility unless you count a few sentences akin to "I shouldn't have been so soft fire similar underperformers in the past" as having taken responsibility. If Formlabs management says otherwise, let them respond to this review with the actual text of the email mass firing email and let that email speak for itself.

Formlabs is a growth-oriented company in a competitive industry - as such, the pace can be challenging at times, and tradeoffs are made trying to balance long-term company success with short-term needs. If you are looking to maximize short-term financial goals (meaning get the highest base salary) or work in a neatly defined, low-stress, structured job, Formlabs may not be the best place for you. But if you want to build or advance your career working alongside bright, driven colleagues with inspiring customers, I think Formlabs is a good option.
