In my personal experience, working at Fortune Brands Innovations was one of the most demoralising and miserable workplaces I have ever encountered. The atmosphere often felt arrogant, dismissive, and completely disconnected from reality, as if management had no idea, or no interest, in what workers actually go through.
Employees were frequently made to feel unvalued, replaceable, and pushed far beyond what is reasonable. Breaks were almost non-existent, with only a 20-minute lunch and no additional rest, no matter how demanding the shift was.
What made things even worse was the way management expected huge amounts of work to be completed in completely unreasonable and unrealistic timeframes, creating constant pressure and frustration, and leaving many employees feeling as though they were being set up to fail.
The casting department was, in my view, the absolute worst of it. The heat was brutal, the workload was endless, and injuries were far too common. People were exhausted, unhappy, and clearly pushed past their limits, and the overall environment was oppressive and deeply draining.
Management, from what I witnessed, was astonishingly poor. Concerns about health, safety, mental strain, and general wellbeing were often ignored or dismissed, communication was weak, support was minimal, and decisions regularly felt careless or out of touch. On top of that, some dismissals seemed sudden and unexplained, leaving workers constantly uneasy about their job security.
Overall, my experience suggested that senior leadership was far more focused on squeezing as much work as possible out of people than on providing a safe, fair, or humane workplace, and I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before considering employment here unless significant changes are made.
