Pros
Hard to believe that and other startup is both as mission driven to make the world a better place, and actually capable of going out and executing. Mission alignment across staff is crazy and infectious. It’s really hard to leave once you get hooked. Despite big mission and lofty valuation, Forward is still very much a startup, and that means everyone who joins is handed real responsibility and ownership. You won’t just be a cog, you’ll own a part of the engine, so you’ll learn how to be scrappy and move fast in a way not possible at a large company.
Cons
Forward is still a startup, so there can sometimes be very little support for formal training. Everyone is figuring this out as they go, so you’re kinda throw in and expected to do so to (which some people struggle a lot with) The downside of being handed responsibility is that it can be stressful when things go wrong. Pay is on the lower side, but you get to work on cool high impact problems, so it’s a trade off.
