Pros

I LOVE working here. I get to work with the smartest people I know on really challenging problems and see directly how we impact the lives of our members. I can't say enough about how supportive our leadership team is, how fun my coworkers are and how exciting it is to work at such an ambitious company. Considering our goals, we have great work life balance compared to most companies our size. If you want to help change the world and you care about human health, you should work here.

Cons

Reinventing healthcare is hard work and it isn't for the faint of heart. You should be committed to our mission, humble and ready to work with teams to achieve goals that are much bigger than what you can achieve alone. If that's not for you, you might not be happy here.

Pros

- Mission. This company is honestly going to do so much good. They are building the future of healthcare if a very intelligent, deliberate, albeit breakneck-paced manner. The mission, to make the best possible healthcare available to the entire world, for free is unbelievably audacious. But they are actually doing it!! In the right way! The tech development is expensive and takes work upfront, which is why you start with a premium product (like cell phones, cars, tvs, everything you use), then after you develop the tech and get more users, it becomes cheaper and more widespread until it is essentially free (like email, the internet, etc). I'm so excited for where we are headed!! What a crazy, awesome mission and team to be lucky enough to work with! - Team. My coworkers are unbelievable. Every single person is not only wicked smart and capable, but also very fun and they type of person you'd like to go on a weekend campout with. I've never worked with such consistently high-performing and awesome people. Love them all with giant, bone-crushing bear hugs! - There is so much transparency and so much to learn. The founders share so much of their thought process, decision making, board meeting feedback, etc with the company - it's refreshing. - Ownership - each person is encouraged to own their area of responsibility. As soon as you've mastered it, the amount of work for you to do and things to learn is unlimited. And nobody is shy about giving you more scope and letting you own more!

Cons

- Changing the world is hard. It's a lot of work. Nothing easy about it. It takes flexibility. I'm reading these reviews, and honestly, I think there are a lot of people that just aren't well-suited to being a mover and shaker. We work hard, but it is the cost of making something incredible. - Work life balance is a tricky one, because, while we all care immensely and work really hard, whenever anything hits the fans, management & teammates are so generous and gracious, bending over backwards to take care of each other. We really feel like family. A very dedicated, hard-working family. - Past issues (with compensation, training, etc. - all inherent to working at a startup) are all getting sooooo much better. The company has grown up a ton, and a lot of these past niggling annoyances are getting cleared up. Having the most amazing head of HR too has already made an enormous difference.

Pros

-Exciting, challenging problems to solve on a macro and daily scale -Worthwhile company Mission with a big team buy-in -Proximity to experienced entrepreneurs (co-founder team) with incredible product vision and willingness to share knowledge -People you work with and amongst genuinely care about you both as an employee and as an individual -Opportunities to take on projects outside of your scope to develop individual and team skills is invaluable -Culture of ownership helps to cultivate a meritocracy that governs the company, each voice is respected and heard

Cons

-For many employees there's higher volatility in your role, but each change often precipitates new opportunity for growth. It's a start-up. -Longer working hours for some roles / teams
