      Challenging problems with smart, mission driven people

      Pros

      - Forward is a mission driven company with an ambitious vision and a strategy I believe in. I think we have a good chance to improve hundreds of millions if not a billion lives. - The people are motivated and brilliant. I’ve never worked with so many A+ players and am constantly learning from my teammates. - There’s no shortage of large, complex problems so I’m continuously challenged. And I love that people act like owners: there’s no problem too small or too large. We’re all in it together.

      Cons

      - There’s a lot to be done so people are more heads down than social but that’s to be expected in a startup that’s feeling the scaling pains of significant growth.

      Healthcare with heart and hardware

      Pros

      I am so proud to work at Forward and to do what I do every day in pursuit of the crazy big goals we're all chasing together. It's undeniable that healthcare is broken but a lot of the other startups you see are just kind of gimmicks or too narrow to make a difference. We do software, hardware, industrial design, real estate..... it's never boring, it's always challenging, and my teammates are the bomb.

      Cons

      I legit don't have many. Line management is mostly new and feeling their way, but leadership is so strong even in so many of our individual contributors that we all kind of compensate where we have to.

      Not Your Average Startup

      Pros

      - "no-nonsense" approach to building an amazing product - work on large / hard problems that matter (not optimizing click-through rates for ads or likes)... get to hear how your features impact human lives not revenue numbers - cross-discipline work can cut both ways at Forward but for the most part comes out positive.. seeing multiple disciplines working together at the top of their game is inspiring - stellar team that does a lot with lean resources - leads walk a great balance between moving fast and caution

      Cons

      - high pace forces employees to set personal life boundaries instead of it being a standard across the board.. not for everyone - scaling brick and mortar is a long, hard road - doing it while also building an amazing product leads to a lot of late nights - hiring - scaling quickly so the need to hire quickly without making hiring mistakes is a hard line to walk
