A company to get experience certificate

Pros

I worked here for around 2+ years. Place for freshers as matured and knowledgeable crowd is leaving. Communication skills play big role. In my tenure I could gain only the work experience certificate. Evolving culture.

Cons

I have screwed up my career by joining this company. Definitely not a place for SAS or R or model building data scientists. Attrition fear causes, managers to make employees work on crappy stuff by using fancy words. I had high enthusiasm towards model building algorithms to answer business questions. I was expecting things will be better over the time. but what I realized is I am learning people politics not data science.

Pros

1. Veritable freedom to work on any analytics project using any statisitical tool/technique 2. Frequent on-site opportunities and freedom to work from home 3. Transparent processes: Staffing, Renumeration, etc.

Cons

1. Huge disparity in payscales of IITians vs. Non-IITians, even for top JEE rankers coming from a Non-IIT institute 2. No role models at Lead/Sr.Consultant level, especially in FSI vertical. This is probably a result of frequently promoting (read cuddling) inexperienced analysts, who joined b/w 2007-2009. 3. Over-emphasis on org. initiatives

Cons

People principle are taken for granted by some peers behaving in arrogant and dominating manner. One is made to work even when sick not by manager but by peer and the same peer when requested to complete some work as there is dependency they give a great reason "people principle"... There is working hours flexibility which is good but when there is work dependency (in terms of tool) on people coming in office at noon, others who comes since the morning (cannot travel home late) still have to stretch in their working hours because of others. Managers must help in such case regarding management of work so each ones time and schedule is maintained.
