It's incredibly dry, boring, repetitive, mindless work. Your entire job is just to apply various cumbersome and detailed policies to the cases you are working on. Fill out forms, fill in blanks in form letters, and describe jobs the way the USCIS wants to hear you describe them. It sort of feels like the movie "office space."Also, they try to hire in temps who are naive enough not to negotiate. Make sure you negotiate at every opportunity. If they want to hire you after you temped, then you're valuable to them, so don't be afraid to push through a few rounds of awkward negotiation to get more money.

too much work for not enough pay. high turnover rate. poor training. hard to move up if you're an assistant paralegal 1 because they don't typically promote you until 2 years after you start. hated how an assistant paralegal 1 (entry-level, super low starting salary) had the SAME work as a SENIOR PARALEGAL, who obviously makes more $$$, although i'm sure it's not much anyway. generally, really low morale because everyone just wants to get paid more for the work they do.
