      Dry Depressing Work Product Factory

      Pros

      There's free beverages and the office is nice.

      Cons

      It's a paperwork factory and they churn through people, firing them for whatever non-existent reason they like. The people above you will blame you for every inevitable mistake, so that they can protect their own jobs, which is understandable. But, it all creates a hostile work environment something like dog-eat-dog fancy dress sweatshop.

      Pros

      Some of the senior paralegals are great teachers and great people!

      Cons

      No training what so ever. I learned how to use the database and do full cases in a week by studying the firm and immigration law around the clock. Furthermore, there are too many office politics here, something I thought wouldn't exist in a "prestigious" firm. It turned into a hostile work environment very quickly. The only thing that kept me smiling was how rewarding immigration work can be, which most people working here take for granted.

      Good benefits and easily accessible by public transport.

      Cons

      Your experience at the firm will be completely different based on what team you are initially placed on. If you feel unfairly treated by your manager or team, there appears to be no opportunity to move. It is my opinion that more and more, staff have been made to feel unappreciated and dispensable.
