      Big corporate firm with zombie employees and unhelpful staff. RUN FAST!

      Okay pay, 1 hour lunch, good location

      Cons

      Everyone just clocks in and clocks out like zombies. No one says hi to you even if you've been working there for years. The company is very corporate and not friendly at all. Its a dog eat dog world with them. They treat you like you are replaceable and if you speak up about any concerns they will make you out to be the bad guy. They have a culture of tight nitch white woman leading the pack and if you rub them the wrong way they get rid of you like if you never mattered. People are so unhappy there and they gossip like crazy. DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA! Also don't expect to have a life outside of work because they squeeze the life out of you with forcing overtime every week and crazy deadlines!!! If the AC breaks they expect you to work through the 90 plus heat in the office. Sweat shop much?

      Pros

      Very generous 401k match, formerly generous PTO policy, friendly coworkers

      Cons

      Management is out of touch with employees needs and wants. Blame for mishandled projects or timelines will typically run downhill. PTO policy has recently changed which has made the workplace more rigid and contentious. The pay is not particularly competitive compared to other firms, but the flexibility is what most employees appreciated. With recent updates in policy, I would expect some upcoming attrition of paralegals.

      Pros

      If you're fresh out of college and looking for legal experience, you will learn a lot. This is a good stepping stone for those ready for law school and are looking for a bit of experience and contacts. You might be lucky and get into a great team with a solid attorney. You will meet some really great people.

      Cons

      You are thrown into the deep end from day one, and are expected to push out cases with little training. Your wages are pretty low and you'll have to get several promotions to make a semi-livable wage in Silicon Valley. They only seem to hire inexperienced people. If you're a seasoned paralegal, you're still starting at the bottom of the food chain. You will be overloaded with cases, micromanaged, and your well being is less important than pushing out cases for endless clients. Constant stress and pressure to push out cases without a lot of concern about your well-being. Feels a bit like a sweat shop. The turnover is extremely high, but they don't seem to mind.
