Pros

-Learn a variety of visa types -Front-facing with clients -Good stepping stone to in-house work

Cons

-Work/life balance is non-existent. You can work 60+ hours/week and be told it's not enough -The pay is extremely low and is standard across the firm. Those in Los Angeles make the same starting salary as those in Phoenix, Atlanta, Boston, etc. -The culture is toxic. The work volume is super high and management does not get the support they need, which leads them to take it out on their reports. It was constant apologizing/fear of being fired. If you made it past hire/fire day each week, you could relax and know you were employed one more week.

Pros

It's a great way to get your foot in the door and be exposed to how a high volume law firm might operate. The people you're hired on with tend to be very pleasant to be around along with a fairly nice office in the Financial District. If you are hired on full time with a salary, you are given 22 days of PTO and we were even give about 80ish hours of COVID PTO as well. Overtime salary is very nice as well about 2.5x or 3x normal rate. Surrounded by hardworking individuals for the most part.

Cons

They do no invest in your future. Many companies say they care for each of their individual workers, but there is almost no way to stand out due to a lack of accountability and a constant revolving cast of Analysts, Coordinators, and even Attorneys. It's clear that Fragomens' business model is a 'Hire as needed' basis not only for its entry roles, but for its immigration specialists/Leads as well. On top of the lack of attention each employee is given, the amount of self learning may be a turn off for those who prefer clear instructions. The Workload is demanding and many of the cases are actually handled by Temp. Workers , resulting in constant errors and audits. Getting hired on as a temp is actually as easy as sending an email. They did not even check education nor did they ask me to perform a formal interview. Management will not try to accommodate most workers for remote option due to the inconvenience.
