-Great Co-workers and amazing nurse practitioners that truly care for the patients and their families and are also willing to lend a hand if you need it. -Great population of patients and the ability to create long lasting relationships with your patients and their families

Cons

-Management does not realy support their staff nurses and there are alot of changes happening meaning that many problems are not being dealt with adequately.

Cons

Rotating shifts (can work in any of 3 times and you don't get to choose), management is often absent only there to critic you. No room to grow whatsoever.

Pros

When the unit is safely staffed, a wonderful place to work. Form great connections with staff and kids, truly rewarding work.

Cons

Management does not listen to staff, often assaulted and injured during high acuity by aggressive patients and management does not care. Almost impossible to have a work life balance with the schedule they make you work (must work every other weekend, must work rotating shifts and can only work 8hr shifts). Results in you working 6 night shifts in a row with one “day off” and then being back on day shift sometimes. Not good for anyone’s mental health!
