Pros

Good pay Good benefits Some opportunity to develop professional skills Good people working on the ground Great place to learn workplace politics and management dynamics If you like the mining industry this might be a good place for you

Cons

Locations are often remote and can include a lot of driving Schedules are very challenging Management can be overly political Make sure you go in with a degree that directly relates to your career goal because if you don't have one, you'll never get to where you want to go
