Pros

Not being there :) Some of the people there are very nice and smart.

Cons

Highly toxic work environment - a revolving door situation and to mention that over the course of the past 2-years, senior employees who have been with the firm for a considerable amount of time have also moved on .

Pros

Location next to NYC via long walk to the subway or a shuttle the company runs. Free sample foods from suppliers once in awhile

Cons

Where do I begin? Tis company offered great pay and huge bonus if hit goals. I worked for an amazing organizations and FD lured away with talk of a new corporate location, going public and a large salary/bonus. I've been with may large Fortune 100 companies and FD had a plan to learn what I knew and then discard me. They hired me to advise and change the business. To make positive change. Then, when I went ot make change for employees and the good of the company, was told that none of it could happen. They hired me for one discipline which I am extremely skilled at and then after joining, became immersed in website building, not my core skill set. 1.The company has been promising going public and still has not after many years. When asking VP level associates, they all agree they do not think it will ever go public. 2. They have been working on the new location for the company in NYC for years and are still not in it yet. 3. Senior leadership have no idea about different business segments and cannot wrap their arms around anything other than retail sales and CPG. 4. This is not a stable company and everyone has to work extrememly hard and long hours. If you don't answer emails on the weekends or do work on weekends, then forget working here. 5. No support from senior leadership 6. Lots of backstabbing and employee turnover 7. Bad company culture and noone is senior leadership cares.

Pros

FD has fiercely loyal customers who love the service and are keeping the company alive. As an employee you get 20% off the site/app and there is a small physical employee store with 50% off listed price discount (sometimes more) although it is very hit and miss on what products will be available each day. There is a shuttle service because the office is far from the train but it is mismanaged and the executives don't care because they all drive. If you do have a car there is company parking available onsite. Staff who are passionate about sourcing quality items and vendors. Supporting local brands and companies. Highly international workforce. Occasional company events.

Cons

Senior management is almost entirely Turkish and keep to themselves which creates a major divide between cultures. The company feels as if it is divided between them and all the other nationalities/backgrounds which is very unfortunate. Not a company with a founder involved but operates with startup energy. Lack of culture and communication, lack of transparency into company goals and strategy. No hybrid work options for most corporate staff. FreshDirect lacks leadership and it shows.
