Pros

Mostly stable job, close to home, decent pay, good benefits, good schedule.

Cons

Too many potlucks and gift donations requests, too much union politics, those who should be fired are not, extreme gossip and drama e specially from the managers.

Pros

Good benefits, free time and no supervision

Cons

Retirement Health Benefits package are horrible. A couple who both retired from Fresno Co must pay $1100.00 PER MONTH. 2009 it increases further. Great job retirement board.

Pros

The staff members I work with are some of the greatest people. I have an excellent support system doing truly challenging work. Our office is mega supportive of the emotionally taxing tasks we get in our unit.

Cons

The pay really isn’t that great. As a career choice, I still struggle to pay my bills and live off of my income. Plus, it is truly emotionally taxing work to be paid so much less than a lot of other departments.
