Pros

I am being forced to type something in this box by glassdoor but I assure you I have nothing.

Cons

This company has acquired the contract I am currently on and they have cut salaries 15-20K a year. We didn't not receive a benefits package until about two weeks before they came on board although we knew they were coming about two months ago.

GEM Technology Response

GEM took over this contract when FBI decided to consolidate two large business contracts that were paying high salaries to keep vacancies filled. The consolidation contract forced GEM to bid at much lower salaries based on the proposal requirements. Of course all of the incumbent staff were upset since it was mandated that the salaries be reduced based on the wage determination given in proposal. At the First town hall meeting, the CEO, the Program Manager and the Human Resources Manager from GEM were in attendance. The irate incumbent staff were very inconsiderate and would not allow the meeting to continue due to the abrupt disturbance in the meeting at the hotel. The hotel management asked that we end the meeting based on the horrible abursts and loud protest. GEM executives did not have a chance to go through the benefits or the reasons for the adjusted salaries. This is happening to most Federal contracts across the board based solely on salary creep. The overhead charged on this contract is a breakeven point for the company. The employees did not understand this was out of the control of the company and mandated in the FBI proposal. Over the next months, GEM worked with the FBI to increase salaries and benefits to help as much as possible. Most of the unruly employees have been removed from their positions and replaced with outstanding employees. Joe Easton President

Pros

The company culture provides free reign to grow and rewards staff for success. Well respected company within DOE's safeguards and security market sector.

Cons

This is a very small business that demands multiple responsibilities from senior managers. As such, it can be difficult to be "off the grid".
