Pros

Discount, pms, flexible work hours

Cons

Unrealistic sales goals, too pushy on GNC brand and on the pro access (up until recently managers made commission on all GNC brand products, however I heard they took that away), high turnover (that’s an understatement, at the particular store I worked at it was just myself and the manager at one point (October ‘18, the previous month we had 5 total employees at the store). Company is headed into bankruptcy. If I’m not mistaken, GNC has long-term debt that matures in March (2019). During last summer (2018), there was a heavy push to get customers on the auto deliver and save 10% program. Every time the product was shipped to the customer, you would get the pm(if there was even a pm on the product) and the customer would save money. Their reasoning was about earning an easy pm each month (or whenever the product shipped to the customer), however this is their way of getting people locked into this program so that when the time comes for GNC to close more stores, the customer will still have their desired product shipped from the GNC warehouse. During the same time period, they even had conference calls every single day about the same thing and we were told to take notes all the time. It got annoying and repetitive. And, if you did not get an ADAS (auto deliver and save) by the 1pm update or before the 4pm conference call then you would have to be on the conference call at 4. They even compared the ADAS program to Amazon prime and said it would appeal better to customers.

Pros

I’d say the PMs but they keep taking those from us monthly so nothing other then being able to help customers reach goals.

Cons

They took Managers Commissions as of January,The turnover rate is ridiculous because of constant harassment and mistreatment of managers and associates the same. No recognition you can be on fire for days, weeks, months the minute you have a bad week you have unqualified RSDs trying to tell you how to do your job better when they dont have a leg to stand on in this company. The level of shady and crooked stuff that goes on is unbelievable. I’ve seen many amazing managers be pushed out or accused of wrong doing by RSDs who want to save themselves and will throw anybody under the bus to clear their tracks. O also you’ll be in a stupid group chat that goes off all day even when you’re off and u have to deal with it and respond. It’s a 7 day a week job long as your store is open. Thanks for lying to Push me out 😁 Tampa is a dying market
