Pros
Employee discounts on products, but still more expensive than online.
Cons
Lots of Cons: Sales ratio encourage lying and selling worse (GNC) brand products. Here's how it works. You have to maintain a ratio of 50% to 75% premium products.. those premium products happen to be GNC brand (they are by no means premium). So for every third party brand item you sell you must sell one GNC brand item. This means you have to discourage people from buying something like optimum nutrition whey protein if your numbers are too low for the day. Why not sell them amplified Wheybolic extreme 60 (GNC's flagship product), anything GNC to meet numbers. Lie all you can to sell GNC brand over everything else. Tell them you take this product, its gonna make you slim or muscular. Discounts are silly and manipulative. They rotate between proteins and fitness supplements and the vitamins section but never actually give you a discount. Either they mark down the product and say X% off!! We are told to say today you can get this X% off. Or there is a buy one get one half off!! Except when that deal is running, GNC marks up all the products so that the price of the 2 products /2 to equal the price of the single product is no more than a $1 or $2 from the original 'discounted X% off deal'. Either way you are paying a steep mark up from online prices under the belief you are getting some sort of time dependent deal. Ratios are all they look at
