Pros

A good place to get your foot into the door with armed security.

Cons

Trucks are constantly breaking down, A/C in trucks doesn’t work in the summers, often paired with lazy or slow people. California law is if you don’t take a lunch, you have to be paid an extra hour. Garda doesn’t want you to take a lunch (you get in trouble for taking a lunch) BUT they also don’t want to pay you for a missed lunch, so they tell their employees to take fake lunch breaks. Totally illegal and a lawsuit is headed their way.

Decent entry-level pay, not much else.

Cons

Very poor work-life balance in a constant high-stress work environment. Team communication was constantly very poor and unorganized. Upper management was not always supportive and provided very little professional feedback and/or mentoring. Expectation of daily work hours are higher than average and shift periods abnormal, expect to work most holidays. High entry-level employee turnover. Overall, job satisfaction was poor, 1 out of 5 stars.

We were seldom able to complete all the stops on our routes because the corporate office kept adding customers to our routes, but wanted it done even faster. The Cheetah program is what they called it. Customers don't care about your timeline, and will thwart your efforts if you try to get in and out quickly.
