Gatsby (CA) reviews

I have worked at Gatsby now for several months, having joined in the Spring of 2021.  My experience has been extremely positive!  I thoroughly enjoy working with the team and people throughout the company.  Our staff is smart, creative, and easy to get along with.  Being a growing startup, everyone plays a critical role in the success of the company, and I feel that my work directly makes an impact toward building a mature organization.  From what I understand in the last year there was a bit of staff turnover, as the company shifted focus from our open source GatsbyJS Framwork to also include our commercial Gatsby Cloud offering. All I can say is that the team we have in place now is top notch! We have excellent engineering talent and I trust the management team. The evidence is in the commercial growth the company is experiencing. We have a great balance between the open source and commercial sides of the company and it feels each day that everyone is pointed in the same direction. Another plus is that Gatsby is a remote-first company since the founding of the company. I was only looking at remote roles in my job hunt. It's nice to be at a company that has always embraced remote work, and knows how to do it right. With regard to career development, management follows through. My manager out the gate worked proactively on the career goals I mentioned during recruiting. If you step up to the plate, Gatsby will provide opportunities to grow. Work here? Yes! Apply here? Gatsby is a super collaborative and fast-paced environment. The pace of Gatsby releases and features has really ramped up over the last year and Gatsby, Inc. is constantly working on something new. If you like OSS, of course everything is built around the framework. There are lots of unique technologies that it uses (Typescript, GraphQL, Node, etc) so as a developer it is hard to get bored. At the same time, Gatsby, Inc works with some amazing clients so you get to see your hardwork payoff at the enterprise scale. Most importantly, the people from top to bottom are wonderful. They are diverse and incredibly talented. Best of all, they are kind and fun people. Gatsby is a global company so working with people from all over the world is always exciting.
