Pros

HR team will hire anybody.

Cons

Feels like they don't care if you have a family. They expect you to work Monday through Saturday 9 to 10 hours a day every week. They don't promote from within for anything higher than lead. They don't reward good work or loyalty. They let engineering decide how production is ran, not the production supervisors. HR team will hire anybody. HR team will let workers walk over the shift leads unpunished. Management doesn't seem to know what they are doing. HR team and management team seem to care more about keeping new hires happy at the expense of their long time employees happiness.

Pros

This is a growing company taht I believe will have a promising future if you’re passionate about the overall products that were being offered to consumers. The story of how Generac was started was interesting. Good benefits offered and a wide range of departments here. Cafeteria on site was a plus. Some of my coworkers were absolutely amazing to work with and very helpful.

Cons

The main reasons why I left were I could count of one hand how many other African American employees there were at any given time out of around 300+ employees so that made me feel that they thought AA’s are inadequate?? Also, training was absolutely unstructured. My trainer himself though always seemed under pressure but I think he did well given the tools and experience he had. Another manager was okay but I can tell she had the personality of entitlement and definitely micromanaged. I’ve seen someone get treated extremely unfairly and not equal to their peers on multiple occasions and it ignited a fire inside of me. Extremely gossipy coworkers were very annoying, I felt I couldn’t go to HR because I felt information would not be kept confidential so ultimately I made the decision that this was not where I planned on retiring from. I also had a bad experience with someone in the Payroll, extremely rude because I had a question about accessing an account.

Pros

If you are right out of college, this is a good place to start. Work a year then move on to something better.

Cons

My manager in specific acted in a very unprofessional manner. He and the others in my department wouldn't take responsibility for the things that were our job. God forbid you make our department work. Everything was always the other departments' fault. And the way he talked about other people in the company was completely childish and unprofessional. I was accused of going against what he said even though I had screenshots of him telling me to do something one way, and then later reprimanding me in email and saying I should have known to do it the other way. And that happened more than once. Pay is pretty low, at least it was for me, they barely wanted to pay me more than what I was making at my previous job. I wouldn't recommend working here.
