Pros

Most people here really suck at their kobs. If you're able to accomplish anything you are considered a high performer.

Cons

This company has severe gaps in compensation. I tend to notice people with realitves here are quite well taken care of. Nepotism is extremely prevalent here. Others of us, not so much. I myself am paid significantly below my market value

If you have another option, take that one instead

Pros

Good job security - there are plenty of incompetent and unproductive people still gainfully employed so once you're through the gate you're good to go.

Cons

Facilities are taxed to max already and they plan to hire a few thousand more to meet contract demands. They've converted several conference rooms into desk space making finding places to meet difficult. Parking gets worse by the week, there's even some parking shaming threads on the company forum by employees that post pictures of poor parking jobs that take up valuable spots Maternity leave is minimal and paternity leave is non-existent. If you have hopes to create or expand your family look elsewhere. The hiring process is long and drawn out to the point that they sold me in part on their tuition reimbursement policy but by the time I'd made it through the door that policy, like many others, had been cut down. They never mentioned that the company shuts down for a week around Christmas and that you're expected to float other holidays or use what minimal PTO they give you if you want to be paid during that time. Policy and procedure dictates work, rather than the other way around. There's always a form somewhere that needs to be filled out and good luck getting help trying to figure out what needs to be done. Company culture is a joke. Seemingly everybody has a countdown to leave this place, either until they hit retirement age or until they have enough work experience to be hired elsewhere.

Pros

Job Security is the top benefit, work is interesting, company has great stability, jobs in all engineering disciplines, there is little pressure to work long hours and hours are very flexible so there's good work life balance.

Cons

Raises are at or below market average, company does not provide sufficient parking, recent changes in benefits have all been to reduce benefits (eliminated paternity leave, 2 years of low raises, eliminating reserved parking for engineering specialists, rumors of changes to tuition reimbursement)
