      Pros

      You can take a ton of time off if you want or you can work an insane amount of OT to make a lot more money (personally didn't find the work rewarding enough to do OT). Great people to hang out with and great mentors. You will never get fired.

      Cons

      Procedures for EVERYTHING - really removes the thinking from engineering. 95% of it is paperwork. Little to no access to engineering software. Overall, most of the people are not very driven/passionate (besides the select few).

      Unfortunately I’ve had a very disappointing experience working at Electric Boat RI. I willingly left this facility knowing more than I should about how they operate. There is obvious favoritism, and management operates in a way that feels secretive rather than transparent. Employees are written up for just about anything, yet supervisors are smoking in the parking lot without consequences. a clear double standard. Overall, it creates an unfair environment where hard work doesn’t feel recognized and policies don’t seem to apply equally to everyone.
