Pros
Job is secure. It's not like startups are popping up making submarines. The work is interesting and unique. Influx of young people.
Cons
If you get in after 6:15 you're not getting parking however you do get to enjoy a brisk 25 minute walk or bus ride from the next town over. Even if you do get a parking spot because you came in at 5 or 6, you're still expected to stay until 3 at minimum so you end up donating unpaid overtime which will be held against you if you don't do it. Salary employees are treated like hourly with strict clock in and clock out. Any time under 40 is charged to PTO and anything above is unpaid OT in most circumstances. This "casual overtime" is expected and can vary from 5-10 hours weekly depending on pay grade. Benefits have been cut substantially in the last year in the sectors of time off, health care, and tuition reimbursement. The company has managed to anger the city of New London to the point where they have stripped street parking in areas around the facility. Mind you all the other companies around the area have their own private parking so this tactic was purely to attack EB. The rumor is that the city will begin charging $60 a month for a permit for a non guaranteed spot. There are no mid career folks. The majority of the work force are under 5 or under 30 years of service which leads to an amazing amount of disparity. The young leave because they're not properly compensated or emotionally fulfilled and the old stay because it's all they've ever done and the work is just as easy as sitting home being retired. The resulting atmosphere leads to new ideas to be squashed and having work driven by 20 year old processes and tools without any real improvement in sight. Salary and PTO are non negotiable. If you come in with 20 years experience in engineering, a spectacular military service record, a Ph.D from Yale, and a letter from the President himself you're still getting as much PTO as someone walking in from college. It's an amazingly stupid policy especially with other benefits being cut.
