Pros

Most senior people are very proud of the type of work they are performing. Company is respected as the premier submarine builder nationally. Salaries are fair, work is decent and there is some movement towards improvement.

Cons

Management is lead by people whom are trained as engineers not management! Companies benefits have been cut drastically and continue to be presented to employees as "even better", when in reality they've become "even worse".

Great to work in the shipyard, there is nowhere else that does what Electric Boat does as well as Electric Boat does.

Cons

As with most of the defense industry, there was little hiring in the 1990s so there is a shortage of middle management right now. This means less experienced folks are being promoted too quickly.

It was only an internship so I didn't get much experience there but the environment was good and the people were helpful

Cons

The job wasn't very technical. Most people there were not using their degrees to their potential.
