Excellent pay. Excellent overtime opportunities. Job stability.

Cons

Odd hiring principals. Generally companies with good pay pick the cream of the crop. Doesn't see to be the case here, high turn over due to bad hiring choices. Company shuts down during Christmas break. There are 6 "float" holidays you can earn during the year to avoid using PTO time or taking no pay during the shut down. Good side, you can have every Christmas and New Year off.

-Extremely talented senior workforce in the engineering group, which you expect out of a company that has been around for a very long time. -Great job security, management at the top of the company does an incredible job ensuring contracts come in and will continue to come in for new design and construction work -Enormously diverse in terms of job function. Rotation program allows work in design and construction environments. Every type of engineer (EE, ME, CE) are used at Electric Boat -Great work-life balance. Flexible work week allows for long weekends when necessary. -Extremely committed to quality due to the necessity for safety of US Navy personnel operating in the machines they design -Tuition for advanced degrees fully covered

Cons

-Beautiful area but lacks amenities of a dense suburb and still shares NY/CT high tax and cost

Pros

The company work is deep into design development for the next generation of submarines which has been extremely interesting. Plenty of opportunity for growth and knowledge of things outside of your expertise. The work force has grown with young hungry professionals over the past few years.Team oriented atmosphere which moves at a relatively fast pace.

Cons

Design development is based on the use of existing designs. Integration of technology and latest advancements of engineering are difficult to integrate. Product development can be slow. Too many procedures which sometimes can slow down development of products and often lead to uneccesary efforts.
