Pros

National average pay and salary.

Cons

Unfortunately, as with most healthcare entities within recent years, Gentiva has grown faster than it can sustain. The employees are overworked as the client load is not sustainable for the current level of care needed and the staff population. Healthcare entities are focused on customer service, which is a positive, yet their support of the staff to ensure that customer service is attainable is non-existent. Like most, they will boast quality care and customer service yet will make it impossible for their employees to ensure the company's mission is upheld at all times without working past reasonable business hours or working from home off the clock.

Pros

Many individuals working branches across the country who care deeply for the work and their patients.

Cons

Non competitive compensation in comparison to the markets in which they operate, all medical benefit options are high deductible health plans with the lowest deductible at $2000, for profit organization with a traditional corporate work culture, creates policy that reflects the values of the corporate staff (non clinical and non frontline) headquartered sometimes over 2,000 miles away from a branch that serves community with differing values, high staff turnover rate and recently vacant roles are forced onto other staff who have their primary role and sometimes secondary role already without offers of renegotiation of compensation, zero to minimal competent training/skill refreshers/orientation despite promises of robust training to prospective employees.

Pros

Flexible work schedule and company car when you drive over 1200 miles a month (they will charge you for this vehicle every pay period and if you do not take the company car they will only reimburse you minimally for mileage)

Cons

Gentiva is owned by a private equity company. Private equity firms, or PE firms, invest in companies to increase their value and earn a profit for investors. Poor company culture and team morale. Stressed out staff due to unsupportive management and unrealistic expectations. Clinical staff struggles to commute to locations due to poor logistics by office staff. Burn out is high and so is turn over.
