      Good place to be if you want to work in higher ed and don't mind being way underpaid

      The work isn't difficult and the expectations are not high

      Cons

      definitely underpaid as a result of years of wage freezes due to the state budget issues no accountability, some people are just warm bodies that fill positions not a lot of opportunity for advancement, you have to be in the right place at the right time to move forward in your career

      Pros

      Beautiful campus, energized community, interesting people to work with.

      Cons

      As state employees, pay is low....with no raises or cost of living in the near future. No room for advancement.

      Pros

      GMU is very flexible when it comes to scheduling, working around the student's availability presented by class load. Inside the IT department, all employees and management are friendly and helpful.

      Cons

      The ResTech job itself within the IT department was fairly easy and paid decently for a quarter-time (10 hr) student, but the job wasn't very technically interesting or challenging.
