Pros

Good work/life balance depending on time of the year. Tries to improve the work day with little give-a-ways (fruit, snacks, etc)

Cons

Too much micro managing and management trying to do my job. Major lack of communication resulting in double work and assumptions. Under-staffed and under-appreciated.

Pros

Learn a lot Great people Great culture At it's core, the people you work with are great. They are ultimately what will motivate you to do your best because they will become like a second family to you. Together you will weather great storms and they will fully understand the whirlwind of work since they will be in the thick of it with you. Then when the storm of conference season dies down, these same people will invite you to take advantage of the slow time to enjoy life, have fun and live a little, sharing many laughs all the while knowing that the eye of the hurricane doesn't last forever and that the storm of work will once more pick up and be fast just as it is furious. However it will be your coworkers who will help you navigate the storm and keep your sanity with you. The habits you gain here are invaluable and if you are able to survive here, you can easily take those same skills elsewhere and be successful. From my experience, this isn't a place to remain long term if you know there are other options available to you. However it is a great platform to help you reach your career goals.

Cons

Extremely high stress Toxic work environment Expect petty power plays Nonexistent work/life balance While your coworkers can be your greatest asset in the midst of the storm, their helpfulness and support differs by department as some departments are more cohesive than others. Within my department, my peers were inherently toxic and destructive. As far as them being people, they were great. As far as work was concerned, many made power plays to put down others in front of management in order to bolster their appearance. Passive aggressive remarks were in abundance and fault finding common. Add to this the brutal pace and volume of work and long hours, the work environment quickly bogs down into the mire of apathy and resentment. Being a mixed bag of full timers and temps, the work quality differs and the newer members can slow down the overall work process. Add to the fact that many teams drag their feet to accomplish their work, it makes the job even more stressful as regardless of hiccups, the show must open and it will either go well or abysmally terrible.
