Pros

There are no pros working at this company. The pay is low, the stress is high do to constant micromanaging, and the support is non-existent.

Cons

Upper management is very incompetent. They promote based upon who they like rather than based on performance. This results in many of them performing poor in their new position. Expect that you will be reassigned to a different department and ultimately demoted. Those that perform well will be undervalued and often ridiculed. Favoritism and nepotism is a rampant problem. The training is by far the worst I’ve ever seen. It is normal for a quarter of the new hires to resign within the first week of getting out of training due to their lack of preparedness. Also, hr and the management are in cahoots with each other, so don’t think that any relief will come your way should you complain. Finally, the Managers and Directors will maintain false documentation on you without your knowledge to present to HR when they’re ready to fire you. There will be no warning, no opportunity for explanation, and no review by HR.

Thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate when employees and former employees take the time to share their thoughts. Helping customers enroll in a plan that fits their needs and their budget is such an important part of what we do here at GetInsured. Since there is an Open Enrollment Period for folks to sign up for a health insurance plan, the business is certainly seasonal. That means that as a company, we do need to ramp up our staff to prepare to serve the higher call center demands in the fall and winter. Unfortunately, that also means, there is a ramp down period after open enrollment. This is true of any seasonal industry requiring customer service. Seasonal agents are hired on a contract basis and understand that the contract ends upon conclusion of the Open Enrollment Period. There are, however, some great benefits attached to this seasonal work. For instance, our agent compensation plan is industry competitive and includes a strong base hourly rate plus commissions. High-performing agents are also considered for permanent employment based on the company’s needs at the time. We do thank you for your service with us at GetInsured and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

We're sorry to hear you weren't happy during your time at GetInsured. First, quite frankly, there are a lot of positives about working at GetInsured and we do think it's worth taking a moment to acknowledge some of them. We have an excellent benefits package that our HR team has worked hard to put in place including 401k matching, excellent health insurance coverage with low employee contributions, and continuing education tuition reimbursement, just to name a few. For the negative aspects of your role that you mentioned, we hope that while you were employed at the company you took the time to speak with your manager and address your concerns. We do have an open communication policy and our managers take it very seriously. A team cannot work to the best of its ability if its members are not happy, so it's in everyone's best interest to provide—and react appropriately to—honest feedback. Our HR team is also always available for any employees that may feel like their particular pain points are not being addressed. We do wish you the best in all of your future endeavors.

Pros

If you go to the Mountain View office, lunch is provided 2 times per week. However, it is also a great way to keep employees in the office, taking shorter lunches so they work more. Benefits are ok. Being a health insurance broker, they should have better options for their employees. Not a lot of micromanagement. In fact, sometimes you don't hear from your manager for weeks on end. Not always a good thing.

Cons

Everyone blames everyone on issues; no responsibility accepted Company priorities are different in each department so what is important to one might not be to another (who is the group that needs to make the change or fix) Horrific communication across the entire company Has had at least 4 layoffs in the last 4 years No bonuses Very little longevity because tenure employees are not treated well. They drive away good employees. The current state of the company is on a downward spiral. It's scary.

First, we want to thank you for sharing your thoughts. It’s always good to get feedback from current employees. You can be sure it will be circulated internally. Second, we wanted to address some of your concerns. We do provide lunch twice a week as a benefit to employees. You can certainly look at it as a way to keep employees in the office, but more positively, we look at it as a way to encourage cross-departmental interaction, while also saving employees some money each week on lunch. We actually provide several cost-saving programs for employees in addition to free lunch, like commuter and cell phone reimbursements. There are also a host of additional employee savings on gyms and outings available through the internal company site. If you’re not aware of these, please be sure to touch base with HR. As far as health benefits, several options are provided — all at very little cost to the employee. Our benefits program is quite competitive in the marketplace and we were pleased to be able to offer the same level of benefits for 2018 without any added cost to employees. For the most part, managers at GetInsured do not believe in micromanaging. Employees at the company are trusted to get their work done on time and with a certain level of quality. We think that says a lot about the capable people we hire — that they don’t need to be watched over. Turnover is natural in our industry — especially now. Since the new administration took office, there have been several failed health bills, and there are a lot of open questions as to what the future holds in regards to health insurance in this country. However, most of the team at GetInsured view this as a tremendous opportunity to be at the forefront of this evolving market and continue to help individuals, companies, states and insurers navigate the new waters. We are constantly thinking of new ways to respond to the market and innovating enrollment platforms — and we think that’s pretty exciting. Every other month, GetInsured holds its board meetings. Following each of these, there is an All Hands employee meeting in which our CEO talks to the entire company covering latest updates. If you haven’t attended these, we encourage you to do so. It’s a great chance to stay on top of the latest thinking from the highest level of the company. Recently, we have been working diligently to add additional communication points in between board meetings to keep everyone up-to-speed on what’s happening. We have an open door policy at GetInsured, so if you feel that you are not being communicated to enough from your manager, please feel free to speak with him/her.
