Worst Work Life Balance Ever

Pros

They provide catered lunches on Tuesday and Friday. There are birthday celebrations which occur once every month.

Cons

Two rounds of layoffs have already happened, and people working there are in constant fear, that another one may happen soon. Many capable engineers have worked continuous nights without proper recognition and rest. Many projects are planned for release without proper time to test and verify all the defects. The upper management always has the attitude that “We will fix the issue, once it happens in production”. Constructive criticisms are always good for every employee, but over here, the management criticize the employees openly in front of others. They don't have a proper HR Team, and the management gets away by shouting and scolding the employees in front of everyone else. The management team only require those employees who work “Heads down”. They only look for employees who listens to them without asking back any questions. It’s either their way of solving a problem, or no way. Working in H1 VISA in this company is one of the worst nightmares one can think of, as they know how to properly utilize and channel the fears of H1 employees to their advantage. They know that H1 employees can be shouted at and more work can be given to them, as the H1 VISA is tied to their job. All H1 employees are in fear, that if they say ‘no’ to something, then the next day they could be fired, and they need to look for a new job ASAP. Join this company only if you do not want to have a proper work-life balance, and if you want to be scolded at, in front of others, if you didn’t respond to an email he might have sent you on Sunday 11:00 pm night. All emails sent from management team need a prompt and quick reply or else you may be made fun of, the next morning at work.

We’re sorry you had a negative experience working with us at GetInsured. Just to clarify, the company didn’t have two rounds of layoffs in 2016, though that may have been the impression. We reduced the staff of contractor-based employees in the Atlanta call center due to the seasonality of our business. Since they were contractors, they understood that their employment was not full-time and knew it was temporary to assist consumers during this year’s open enrollment. As far as work/life balance, as well as your claim of how employees in certain departments may have been treated, we take these comments very seriously and want you to know that we have been looking into the situation. We aim to have a happy, team-oriented work environment and the behavior you noted is obviously not conducive to our culture. GetInsured is a small company that does not require a large HR team. The HR staff in place is, and will continue to be, focused on new initiatives that continue to foster team interaction, the sharing of information and implementing new benefits for existing employees. Thank you for your feedback. It’s through open communication that we can continue to grow as a company.

This company will sink, don’t make the mistake of going down with the ship.

Pros

They pay well, but I later found out I was "cheap,"

Cons

Please don’t work here. The company in disorganized, unethical, dishonest, and completely disrespectful towards employees. Leadership is a joke. The CEO saw no value in an HR department until the company was 7 years old and had 200+ employees. No one has any idea what he or she is doing because there’s simply no leadership. The product we’re selling to state government’s is chocked full of junk code that will eventually cause issues.

Pros

Work from home is nice, equipment provided is good.

Cons

I hope this review helps someone make an informed choice about getting involved with this company. The pay is very low for what they expect from you every moment of the day. The work itself isn’t bad — helping customers can be enjoyable — but you can clearly sense cliques, drama, and a very controlling environment in the background. The training was inadequate and confusing, and once you start the actual job, you’ll receive “coachings” and write-ups for things you may have only done once — sometimes things you didn’t even know were an issue. It’s that dog-eat-dog management style where the supervisor is never wrong and seems focused on clawing their way to the next level with as little effort as possible. They hire hundreds of people and claim there are many opportunities because the company is “growing,” but in reality this is a seasonal job. If you understand that from the beginning, it’s fine. But if you’re expecting long-term growth with real support, you will be jumping through hoops. They want you to succeed during the busy season because the company depends on it, yet at the same time they’re not always willing to help. You can be fully focused on helping customers and doing your best, but if you miss one small task, they will punish you in a way that feels onesided and discouraging. For the amount of work required, the pay is low, and the lack of honesty from management is concerning. To them, you’re just a warm body for the busy season — nothing more. I don’t believe this will improve, especially in the current economic climate. Everyone is hustling, hoping to be chosen to move forward, but advancement isn’t based on talent — it’s based on how much you’re willing to contort yourself and be controlled. I already have a strong sense I'll be let go of but if management can't be honest with me, at least I can be honest with myself. I’m glad I had the experience for my résumé, but apart from that, future employees should be aware.
