Pros

None, Nothing good at all to say about this. If you want to do sub-par work for a sub-par company that only cares about their bottom dollar no matter what it costs you with no reward this is the job for you!

Cons

This was the worst job I have ever had. They lure you in to thinking you would be working in a team environment and throw entire jobs at individuals with no support or backing from the company.. NOT EVEN TRAINING. 90% of the people in management or working at this company have degrees from Wayne State in Michigan. Engineers gripe about coordination and do very poor work. Architecture department has musical chairs / dunce hat in rotation for management. Project managers have no architecture experience and can't even open a drawing, I'm not sure what they do other than make promises to clients that are unrealistic and cannot be kept. You will not be treated like a person. Worst company, worst engineers. If you suck at life and need a job that sucks worse than your life apply today, they seem to have problems keeping good people but they are great at keeping dead weight and unskilled workers. A great place to die at your desk without doing anything relevant for humanity!

Pros

After the recession, Ghafari diversified their client portfolio. The company as a whole has a very professional environment, with most things being kept clean, neat and looking professional. The IT staff does a great job at keeping the company running, and most hardware and software is kept current. General comradery among peers is very good. The company does make a good effort of company picnics and yearly parties. Because of the diverse client base, Ghafari Associates LLC is a great place to network to find your next job. I experienced a modest effort at a work-life balance.

Cons

After 10 years at he company I can tell you there is an absolute ZERO chance of advancement (unless your name is Ghafari). Ghafari Associates, LLC does not promote from within, and it seems to pain them to offer any form of employee development or training. While Ghafari Associates, LLC does have a diverse and established client base, and that may offer job security, Ghafari Associates, LLC does not pride itself with employee retention or efforts of merit increases, raises, or cost of living increases. Management's overall attitude is the employee should be lucky they have a job. Ghafari Associates, LLC's corporate counsel & management frequently flexes the "Privately Held Company" muscle and "at will" employment laws. Ghafari Associates LLC appears to depend on new college grads and out-of-state transfers to keep itself gainfully staffed, and employee turnover to keep salary creep at bay. Overall, if you're looking for a paycheck until you find something else, Ghafari Associates LLC is your next employer.
