Pros

Decent pay. Good benefits. Some execs care about the product, and leading the company into a better future.

Cons

Honestly, this is the most hypocritical and horrible working place. See all the bad reviews about Gigster? They're sadly accurate and on the money. This is a company that recently (as in the last 6 months) spent $250K for company logo rebranding, blew through $30+ million dollars in a few years on absolute nonsense, but yet started cutting back on staff perks in early 2019 because they were focused on profit. There is so much territorial bickering, backbiting, different departments not communicating with each other and passing the buck, and lack of working towards a common goal. Management isn't interested in actual results: just how they are perceived. Do something mediocre, and shout it out as a win. Smear the next guy/girl who finds it doesn't work, and claims he/she is incompetent. Leadership isn't supportive and will take sides. All I can say is steer clear of Gigster, unless you want a manager or executive who is manipulative, unprofessional, and will suck the life out of you. Upper management is completely unaware of the politics brewing underneath their noses.

Sad, Failing Company

Pros

Free meals & healthcare, gym in building.

Cons

Management does not understand the company, industry, or what we were selling ... our talent network. New executives pushed out the original CEO and leadership team; they came in to turn the company into something 'great'. I've never seen a growing, emerging, and exciting company fail as fast as Gigster has. It was such a disappointment. I had many hopes and dreams when I joined this company; a lot was promised, and none of it was delivered. I'm glad I got out when I did. There is no career progression here. Management was doing a lot of questionable things when it came to financing, and continues to do so. Management did not honor sales commissions / sales contracts which is against the law.

Pros

Nice views from the office, interesting industry, ability to make a great impact with Gigster's services.

Cons

- The new CEO at Gigster did a mass round of lay-offs 3 weeks into his role, in which I believe he didn't do his research on the business impacts of these teams. He let individuals and departments go that just a mere several months after the lay-offs they started hiring for the roles again. - The sales team would show up at 10am and leave at like 3 or 4pm. If you work at at a startup you need to be scrappy and hard working and I didn't see this mentality across the larger sales team. There were certainly specific individuals that worked hard but one of their core values was impact over hours. People abused this value and left little impact and performed few hours in their roles. - The modes of communication between employees were hostile. I heard comments coming from employees telling one another to shut up, swearing at peopling, derogatory comments towards women, using terminology for mentally handicapped people as negative connotations in conversation etc. - The day the lay-offs took place were so grossly mishandled, pretty much everyone in the office knew that they were going to be laid off several hours before it actually took place. It was a nasty situation for both the employees being let go and the current employees.
