Emotional Abuse, brainwashing

Pros

Onsite cafe's, bonuses, stock options, the opportunity to wear many hats. Yearly raises are not bad.

Cons

The most unforgiving atmosphere I have ever encountered. If you make a mistake you are treated like a second class citizen & you will never hear the end of it. Your hard work will not be recognized or acknowledged, so if you are the type that needs constant validation and a pat on the back, please look elsewhere for employment. Their Core Values are basically the opposite of what they preach. Back-stabbing, shaming, and humiliation are more accurate descriptions. There is an extreme lack of accountability here, you will be blamed from higher ups even if you are not at fault.

Lots of work, no career progress and no work/ life balance!

Pros

Good benefits! Chair massages will really help with the stress at this place.

Cons

If you get a job offer, don't expect a higher title - Gilead typically offers the same title you are at or the next LOWER title. This may change as the Gilead stock and overall status declines. Don't expect any promotions while working at Gilead. If you apply for another position that would be a promotion and they accept you - expect to take the job for the same pay and title level you are currently at! Gilead will allow you the privilege of being paid less than market for the work that you perform. Do expect a boys club culture, especially in PDM QA.

Pros

the company does a lot to ensure employee morale such as give-aways, parties, lunches, etc.

Cons

Very nepotistic in nature which causes a lot of discrimination. Very difficult to get a promotion. Company doesn't care if you have knowledge, just wants you to keep your mouth shut and do your job. Management is useless.
