Pros

* Technical interview: you get a dummy project to work on. As a backend engineer, this is critical. * 100% Remote work * Benefits * Super helpful team members * Everything is written down. You have traceability and version history of everything. Check the GitLab handbook. * Dogfooding. GitLab uses GitLab for its day to day activities. * Cross team collaboration

Cons

* Onboarding can be intimidating. * It takes time to get around how things work and are organised but this is mitigated by the handbook.

Pros

• Fantastic work/life balance • Great opportunity to work on unique and interesting projects • Excellent benefits • Awesome culture • You get to work with people all over the world, making the world feel like a smaller place. • As an engineer, you will receive and learn to give high quality code reviews. • Yearly company-wide gathering in various places around the world. • Fully remote, no commutes.

Cons

Working with people in timezones completely outside of yours can slow down conversations and work.

Pros

The company and your colleagues take care of your soft landing into the company (and the remote work) with simple things like: * Calls with your manager and the onboarding buddy. * Breakout calls * A self-explained and step by step onboarding (using GitLab). * And everything is documented, so you can learn at your own pace.

Cons

Partially doing single sign on, which implies a lot of work to setup online accounts on your first days.
